DAY-1 NOVEMEBER -13

On November 13, our training journey in Graphic Design commenced with the DigitalJobsPH program, a flagship project of DICT. As part of our OJT in DICT, myself and other interns were fortunate to participate in this technical training, which encompasses Graphics Design using PSD-AI and Social Media Development courses.
The day began with an orientation session, which lasted from 7:30 AM until 12:00 noon. During this time, Ms. Lydeline provided an introduction to DigitalJobsPH, elaborating on the services it offers, its significance, and how DICT is involved in this initiative. She also introduced us to the trainers who will be guiding us throughout the course, providing insights into their roles and expertise.

DAY-2 NOVEMEBER -14
TASKS TO COMPLETE THIS COURSE
Today’s session about online work was eye-opening. I learned a lot about freelancing and the basic online tools used in Graphic Design. Hands-on practice with these tools prepared me for future freelancing work. Understanding the differences between freelancing and traditional jobs was eye-opening. Additionally, learning about online payments provided me with valuable knowledge, giving me a better understanding of the freelancing world. Additionally, we explored diverse online payment gateways, learning about different modes of online payments and the essentials for efficient money transfer in freelancing.
On the first day of the Graphic Design training, I managed to accomplish several tasks:

The discussion pace during the training was incredibly rapid, covering modules 1 to 3 in a single day. It was quite overwhelming for me as it was my first time handling a diverse range of topics in such a short span. Feeling a mix of shock and fatigue, I experienced a sense of disorientation. Initially, I felt discouraged by the pace, especially as the original training duration was set for 21 days, but due to time and budget constraints, it had to be compressed into just 12-13 days. This rush led to a feeling of uncertainty about how to proceed.
DAY-3 NOVEMEBER -15
During the third day of the Graphic Design training, our focus was on Module 3: Branding and Niching, guided by Trainer Roselyn Galang. We explored defining a client avatar, grasped the basics of branding, and even worked on crafting a compelling Profile Description Template. As we transitioned into Module 4: Freelancer Profile Creation and Client Prospecting, we delved into creating standout freelancer profiles and payment setup requirements.
I must say, the pace of the lessons was astonishingly fast. I still had some pending activities from the previous lesson, but I managed to keep up and continue progressing through the course. Despite the intensity, it was an enriching experience delving into the world of branding, profile creation, and client prospecting in graphic design.
DAY-4 NOVEMEBER -16
On November 16, Day 4 of the Graphic Design course, we delved into the fundamentals of Graphic Design with the Introduction to Graphic Design Lesson 1. The session revolved around getting acquainted with Adobe Photoshop - its interface, functions, and tools like Photopea and vectors, which are essential for Graphic Designers. We explored the basics through various videos and lessons, focusing on enhancing skills in Photoshop and other editing tools.
This session was particularly exciting for me as I had limited experience using editing software on a laptop. Previously, I relied solely on my phone for editing, so this opportunity to learn on a proper platform felt like a significant step forward.
The tasks for the day were hands-on and crucial for understanding Photoshop. We worked on mastering the Pen Tool in Task 3, followed by tasks focusing on Masking, Background Removal (Task 4), and Image Retouching (Task 6). These tasks aimed to provide practical knowledge and skills required for graphic editing. I'll be detailing my experience with these tasks in the following section.

DAY-5 NOVEMEBER -17
On Day 5 of the Graphic Design course, unfortunately, I couldn't attend the class due to an urgent commitment - the preparation for our pre-oral defense. I needed to prioritize completing at least 60% of our system and ensure that the documents were well-prepared.
It was a bit stressful trying to rush and fix the system bugs, feeling the pressure to get everything in order. Regrettably, I had to excuse myself from the class to work on these essential tasks at home. Missing the lesson was disappointing, but I was determined to catch up and complete the assigned tasks. I am committed to ensuring that I make up for the missed class and fulfill my responsibilities diligently.
