MY SECOND WEEK

Day 1

This morning, I continued my study for the approaching ICT Proficiency examination that will take place in the coming days. In addition to the reviewer's provided link, it is from the DICT's official YouTube channel. I also looked for comparable tutorials to watch to refresh my memory on programming fundamentals and intermediate concepts as I hadn't used C++ since my freshman year. Along with the other interns, Ma'am Lydeline also invited me to prepare for managing Facebook pages the next day. During the afternoon was supposedly a meeting with sir Gerald for discussion and activity with the final meeting about the IBPLS system but instead, Ma'am lydeline instructed us to proceed with the next activity which was to recreate a infographic to be posted in the Facebook page of DICT. It took me the entire afternoon to finish it, my technique was to emphasize the important parts of the infographics and separation of minor informations which will be checked by Ma'am Lydeline the following day .

-Today marks the second day of our second week as interns here at DICT. In the morning, Mam Lydeline called for a Google meeting with an interesting agenda—how to manage the DICT Region V Facebook page. She outlined the tasks we need to handle, which include receiving notifications and messages from people inquiring about various matters. We discussed strategies for efficiently managing this digital space. Mam Lydeline provided us with an Excel sheet for FB management. Our job is to log comments or messages from people, noting down the names of those who interacted with DICT's posts. We classify whether it's a comment or chat, and there's even a status column—pending, addressed, or blocked. This system helps Mam Lydeline respond promptly to inquiries and keep everything in check. In the afternoon, we had our final meeting with Mr. Gerald. Our mission: applying for a business permit. Mr. Gerald asked us interns what line of business we intended to establish. Then, he worked his magic, adding taxes and charges based on the type of business to calculate the tax payment. We dived deep into the entire IBPLS process. First, we hunted down the Revenue code, crucial to determining the charges and fees imposed by the LGU based on the business type. It's quite a mathematical feat, really. Then, we registered and filled in the business name, specified the line of business, and indicated whether it was essential or not. We detailed units, gross income, and awaited verification. If there were issues with the information, we addressed them and double-checked the uploaded requirements. It underwent verification, assessment, and finally, the issuance of the license. After this, we received an email with the tax payment details tailored to the type of businesses we were applying for. Witnessing the entire process was truly amazing and left me in awe of the system's capabilities.

Day 3

Today was the day of the ICT proficiency examination, and it was a unique experience for me as a student since this exam is typically taken by professionals. While I didn't have high expectations of passing the examination, I was determined to give it my best shot. Unfortunately, my review time was limited. The examination consisted of three parts. The first part included multiple-choice questions with problem-solving elements. We had to create algorithms and decipher the questions to identify what they were asking for. In the second part, we had to write code to solve two programming problems. The third part involved providing answers and showing the steps we took to run the programs. It was challenging, but I learned a lot, especially about the exam's format and the types of questions it could contain. I completed the exam, and I'm confident that I did my best to tackle each problem. If, by chance, I pass the exam, I'll proceed to level 2, which focuses more on programming.

In the afternoon, we returned to the DICT office to conduct an inventory of equipment. This inventory included monitors, routers, breakers, keyboards, mice, chargers, system units, and mini computers. Alongside the other interns, we affixed inventory stickers with serial numbers and dates to each item. This task was essential as DICT was in the process of relocating to a new office, and proper inventory management was crucial. As we worked on the inventory, we took a break for snacks, which I truly appreciated. We couldn't complete the task in one day, so we planned to continue the following day. I'm looking forward to it with enthusiasm.

Day 4

   September 28

Today, we continued with the inventory at the DICT office, focusing on the last pieces of equipment, which were the system units. We meticulously recorded the details of the DICT inventory in an Excel spreadsheet to ensure accurate tracking. During this time, I also dedicated some hours to editing my poster using Canva and crafting my weekly blog on WordPress. I successfully finalized my blog for the week, feeling satisfied with the outcome. In the afternoon session, our plan was to create an infographic to be shared on the DICT Facebook page. However, we encountered technical difficulties with the design tool we were using, Canva. To our surprise, this issue wasn't isolated to us but affected all users. Given the circumstances, I decided to make productive use of my time by continuing to work on my blog.

Day 5

Today, I focused on continuing my work on the Canva poster for graphic design. I carefully considered the design elements that would be most relevant to the poster's theme. This included selecting appropriate colors, fonts, and establishing a hierarchy for the text. I paid close attention to what should be emphasized and paid special attention to the finer details of the design. My goal was to create a design that had a professional and formal appearance while still reflecting the theme effectively. To gather inspiration, I scoured the internet for designs that would align well with the theme. In the afternoon, I continued working on the poster while simultaneously managing the Facebook page. I addressed inquiries and comments on the page, making sure to record them in the Excel sheet for FB management. This way, Mam Lydeline could easily respond to and take action on people's inquiries and messages, streamlining our response process effectively.
